Ciaran McCormack is a sustainability communications specialist with over twenty years of experience in Australia, Europe, East Africa and Japan. He has worked with a wide range of organisations in the corporate, civil society, university and government sectors.
Ciaran joins MSSI as Program Coordinator of the local branch of The Climate Reality Project (TCRP). Founded and chaired by former US Vice President, the Hon Al Gore, TCRP is a global climate outreach organisation, with the Australia and Pacific branch proudly hosted by MSSI. Ciaran trained as a Climate Reality Leader in Brisbane in 2019. In his previous role, Ciaran was responsible for communications for an ethical investment fund manager, and earlier in his career he delivered sustainability and community engagement projects for local councils and the Victorian Government. He was also Corporate Responsibility Adviser for ASX-listed Sensis and has coordinated energy efficiency and conservation research programs for Brotherhood of St Laurence and Earthwatch Institute Australia respectively. |
Professor Don Henry

Professor Don Henry AM is based in the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute as the ‘Melbourne Enterprise Professor of Environmentalism’.
Don's role is to stimulate and enhance public debate and policy by working with researchers, government, civil society, global institutions, and business. He provides leadership in the fields of environmental policy development and reform, climate change, and sustainability. Don is an International Board Member of The Climate Reality Project chaired by the Hon. Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States. In 2018 Don was awarded an Order of Australia (AM) for his work in protecting Australia's native wildlife and environment. His current engagement program is to support implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change, negotiated by the global community in December 2015. This work aims to encourage greater ambition in its implementation and to build support for strengthened national commitments. Don and his team are highlighting the role of key strategic countries in the implementation of the Agreement, such as India, the Philippines, Indonesia, China, Australia, South Africa and Brazil. Don is also leading work examining and encouraging Indigenous and conservation outcomes in Northern Australia and collaborative processes for forest protection and sustainable use in Victoria and Tasmania. Liz Foley

For more than a decade, Liz Foley has worked across a broad range of industries in both corporate and consulting roles developing leaders and teams, and delivering change management and engagement initiatives as part of large-scale organisational change programs. Passionate about inspiring and enabling thoughtful action at work, home, and in the community, she joins MSSI as a Project Officer at The Climate Reality Project, an international organisation founded by Al Gore.
Confronted by the need for urgent climate action, in 2018 Liz undertook a social change fellowship with the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF). As a volunteer Community Organiser at ACF, Liz was actively involved in growing ACF's Climate Election Campaign. Liz now applies her professional skills in organisational development, together with her community organising experience, to empower individuals and communities to take climate action and drive social change. |
