They undertake frequent Acts of Leadership such as presenting to their peers and communities, and speaking to the media or at large scale public events. Murukesan Krishnapillai, PhD. is a Climate Scientist with the College of Micronesia-FSM Cooperative Research and Extension Program (USDA). His research and extension work is focused on climate change adaptation of displaced communities in small islands. He served as a Lead Author for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land and as a Contributing Author in IPCC AR6 Report.

Recent activities include teaching the MBA elective on Managing Sustainability for Strategic Advantage; training NAB bankers to support their customers’ low carbon transition plans; upskilling Bain’s 300 Australian consultants in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues; and publishing a paper on why green strategies lead to superior performance and when they don’t.

Christina has 20 years’ experience in project management in events, sports and sustainability. She has been the Head of Operations at Sports Environment Alliance, and is currently working on some national and international sporting events.

She consults organisations to identify opportunities to shift their community, event or business to a more sustainable future. She has developed community engagement programs with the view to drive change to create a more sustainable world.

Christina has a certificate in sustainability and behaviour change, a qualification with the UN System Staff College on “Circular Economy and the 2030 Agenda” and is part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.

Professor and Director of Melbourne Climate Futures

Jackie is the Director of Melbourne Climate Futures and a Professor at Melbourne Law School. She is a leading, internationally-recognised expert in the field of environmental and climate change law and an elected Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia. She has published widely in climate and environmental law, including leading monographs on Climate Litigation and Principles of International Environmental Law.

Amongst many professional roles, Jackie has served as the Treasurer of the Australian & New Zealand Society of International Law, as a Co-Chair of the American Society of International Law’s Signature Initiative on Climate Change and as a Lead Author in Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 6th Assessment Report. She is on the editorial board of Transnational Environmental Law and is a co-founder of the Women’s Energy and Climate Law Network.

Jackie was a Fulbright and Hauser Scholar at NYU and has held visiting scholar positions at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford University. In 2022, she is directing the Centre for Studies and Research Program on Climate Change and International Law at The Hague Academy of International Law.

Prof John Wiseman is a Senior Research Fellow with Melbourne Climate Futures and Adjunct Professor at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. He is also Chair of the Board of The Next Economy.

Since then, he has focused his attention on climate change, and is currently the president of Climate Action Burwood/Canada Bay. He is also a mentor with the Climate Reality Project and a facilitator with Climate for Change.

Intrepid, who are globally recognized as leaders in responsible travel, have been carbon neutral since 2010 and in 2018 became the largest B Corp in the tourism sector.
