WHAT CLIMATE REALITY LEADERS SAY ABOUT THE TRAINING

Picture

TIAHNI ADAMSON

Wildlife Conservation Biologist - Australia

The Climate Reality Leadership training absolutely changed my life. I established lifelong science communication skills that have elevated my knowledge and outreach dramatically. CRL entwines you with an incredible network of like-minded people, in an area that can often feel existential, lonely and thankless. Since completing the training, I've spoken to well over 1 million people about the Climate Crisis and worked on a myriad of projects to positively affect climate change at scale.

WILSON HAZELMAN

Reef Restoration and Awareness Manager - Fiji

The Climate Reality Leadership training was a real eye opener and a real game changer for my career in terms of taking action and making an impact after seeing the amazing work that others were sharing and with the encouragement from the local cohort group I was with. I would encourage others to join the training as it really helps break down information in an interesting and interactive way and gives you hope and connections to push yourself to make an impact, educate others and inspire.

ROSCHELLE MARSHALL

Social Innovation, Impact Enterprise - Aotearoa (New Zealand)

I expected to come away from the training with a bit more knowledge about climate change but instead, I was immersed in a new experience of learning; hearing directly from those with lived experiences, the integration of indigenous knowledge, seeing the scale of climate change effects, and a better understanding of the solutions. Undertaking this training has been one of the major catalysts towards building my capability to understand and act on climate change.

PAST Australia and Pacific CLIMATE REALITY LEADERSHIP TRAININGS

Global Virtual Training 2020-2021

To accommodate global restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic Climate Reality Project hosted online Virtual Global Trainings between 2020-2022. During this time, more than 14,900 Climate Reality Leaders from over 149 countries completed the training, expanding the CRP international network to 42,000+.

Brisbane 2019

In June 2019, The Climate Reality Project Australia & Pacific, welcomed over 880 people to Brisbane to engage in an active dialogue on climate change and become personally inspired by former US Vice President Al Gore. Climate Reality welcomed participants from every state and territory in Australia, over 40 from New Zealand, 20 from Pacific nations and countries further afield from India to Haiti, all up representing over 15 countries.
Over 30 students and staff from the University of Melbourne attended The Climate Reality Leadership Corp training. Young people had a strong presence at the training, led by a cohort of University of Melbourne students and alumni who won the Climate Impact Competition and were sponsored to attend the training.

From the chair of major banks to primary school teachers from regional Australia, the diversity represented in the room reflected the fact that every person in our society has a part to play in tackling the climate crisis.

The three days were split up with a variety of panels, keynotes and breakout sessions, centered around Mr Gore’s famous presentation on the global impacts of climate change and how we can all #BeAmbitious together to tackle the problem. Through the course of the training, we heard directly about the current impacts from First Nations and Pacific Islander peoples, how different sectors such as farming and banking can work to galvanise their industries and how coordinated communities can speak truth to power.
